Ingredients
  

  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 1/4 tsp active dry yeast 1 packet
  • 1 cup warm milk
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter melted
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 2 tbsp melted butter for brushing

  • Large mixing bowl
  • Stand mixer with dough hook (optional)
  • 9x13-inch baking dish
  • Measuring cups and spoons
  • Kitchen towel
  • Oven

Method
 

  1. In a large bowl, combine warm milk, sugar, and yeast. Let sit for 5–10 minutes until foamy.
  2. Add melted butter, egg, and salt. Mix well.
  3. Gradually add flour and knead for 8–10 minutes until the dough is smooth and elastic.
  4. Cover and let the dough rise for 1 hour or until doubled in size.
  5. Divide the dough into 12 equal pieces and shape into balls.
  6. Place the dough balls in a greased 9x13-inch baking dish.
  7. Cover and let rise again for 30–45 minutes.
  8. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  9. Bake for 18–20 minutes until golden brown.
  10. Brush with melted butter and serve warm.

Notes

Use instant yeast to reduce rise time.
For extra softness, do not add too much flour.
These rolls can be frozen after baking.
Store in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
